The President, Bola Tinubu, will meet with governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, today.
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma who was recently elected Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum will lead his other colleagues to the meeting slated for the State House.
The meeting will be the first between the president and the APC governors since his inauguration on Monday. Nine of the APC governors are new while the other 11 are returning governors.
A source who is privy to the planned meeting told WesternPost that National Assembly leadership positions, ministerial appointments and general direction of the government will form the aganda for the meeting.
It is believed that many of the governors who already have preferred persons from their states will use the opportunity to present their positions to the president who has promised to carry every stakeholder along in the formation of his government.
Our correspondent also gathered that the discussions might also include the situation of things in the country after the removal of fuel subsidy, with the president expected to share with the governors his administration’s plans to tackle the effect of the removal.
The subsidy removal has seen petrol being sold as high as N750 across the country.
